The Botany One website has a nice blog post about our recent paper in the Theoretical Ecology journal.

Our paper reports on experiments with an agent-based model of pollination dynamics. We investigate situations where a flowering plant species may actually gain an advantage when pollinators transport some of its pollen to a competing species. This allows the pollen producer to damage its competitor’s reproductive success even if the competitor has a refuge safe from direct invasion.
